Chu Yoga is a your space for yoga and mindfulness as the synergy of Eastern Philosophy, Spirituality, Mindfulness and Western science brought by Christine (Yoga Teacher, B.App Science (Physiotherapy) and Crystal (Meditation Teacher, Occupational Therapist).
Christine’s journey with yoga began at just 14 years old. In her youth, she found herself drawn to yoga. Quietly, within the confines of her room she experimented with asanas (yoga poses), mudras (hand seals), and bhandas (energetic locks) - stumbling her way through what she felt was an intuitive practice. Over time, she saw how determination, curiosity and deep presence with breath and body was all that was needed to move beyond limits and difficulties. What was initially the excitement of meeting playful physical challenges transformed into a lifelong fascination with how we not only meet but also exceed our perceived limits. To her, yoga was proof that the human soul is capable of so much more than what one may initially believe.
Eventually, her practice evolved, earning her a Bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy. Now she promotes health and holistic integration with Self through Yoga supplemented by the scientific precision of her Physiotherapy studies. Christine beautifully blends the ancient art of yoga asana with modern biomechanics, helping you move with intention, safety, and grace.
As Christine was exploring yoga postures, Crystal her sister, was unexpectedly drawn to the subtle side of yoga - meditation and a growing curiosity into spirituality and the subtleties of the human body. Whilst Christine took to physical postures, Crystal took to internal postures- practicing meditation and exploring the bodies subtle energy channels and traditional healing methods.
Through her deep practices she saw strange experiences taking place - A deep sense of inner peace, confidence and clarity and the ability to manipulate her heart rate through breath (Which she later realised was known as breathwork or pranayama). Feeling that the body held secrets that could only be unlocked through deep harmony with the self, nature and the greater source, she delved into study of the energy systems (chakras, nadis and the nervous system), herbal medicine and Samkhya philosophy (study of the material causes and ingredients, similar to modern day chemistry or physics). Later she supplemented her esoteric studies with the western counterpart - Occupational Therapy where she was able to deepen her understanding through psychology, neuroscience, bodily anatomy, the influence of social and physical contexts and the nervous system through the modern lens.
Now, Christine and Crystal after years of spiritual cultivation and deep practice which took them from practicing as therapists to managing ashrams to facilitating workshops, courses and retreats, continue to learn, develop and share the ancient wisdom combined with modern science in corporate, wellness and spiritual settings.
In her spare time, you'll find Christine at the beach or experimenting with natural, eco friendly and ayurvedic aligned meals, remedies and lifestyle items. whilst Crystal can be found hiking or in a quiet place studying and meditating over Eastern philosophical texts.
At Chu Yoga, we believe that all beings deserve to live their fullest, happiest and most purposeful life; one that is deeply aligned with our true inner Selves (the atman in traditional texts). Chu Yoga is a space to reconnect with yourself, a space to understand the open secrets of nature, body, mind and soul and, a space to remember to always expand to meet and exceed your hidden potential.

Step into the fire of self-discovery. It will not burn you, only what you are not.
